Average time calculator
Type in a set of times (add as many rows as you need) and get the average, range, fastest, slowest, and total, with no spreadsheet required.
How do you average a set of swim times?
Add the times together and divide by how many there are. This calculator also shows the range (fastest to slowest), the fastest and slowest swim, and the total, so you can read a round's consistency at a glance, not just its average.
Times are parsed as minutes:seconds or plain seconds, so you can enter them however you read them off the wall.
FAQ
Why does the range matter?
The range, the gap between the fastest and slowest swim, tells you how consistent the set was. A tight range means controlled pacing; a wide range often means the set went out too fast or fatigue set in.
What time formats can I enter?
Enter minutes:seconds (like 1:02.4) or plain seconds (like 62.4). Mix as needed. The calculator parses both.
